Who here has a sweet tooth?! *raises hand* In honor of Dessert Day tomorrow, October 14th, I decided to pull together a round-up of my favorite sweet spots in San Francisco. Often times, I find myself craving something sweet, but clearly not in the mood to go to a dine-in restaurant just to fulfill my cravings. Sometimes, a girl just needs a quick grab-and-go place, ya know? If you’re feeling extra sweet this weekend, drop on by! Here’s a list of my 6 favorites:
Mr. Holmes Bakehouse —The ultimate tourist attraction in San Francisco! Famously known for its pretty sign, “I got baked in San Francisco,” Mr. Holmes is as delicious as it looks! Note: this place opens as early as 8 am on the weekends, so it’s best to get an early start to get your treats before they run out 😉
Bob’s Donuts –Mom and Pop donut shops seem to be a rarity here in San Francisco, but Bob’s Donuts is one of the few places left that are open 24/7! If you’re in need of a late-night treat, this place is your go-to. And get this — donuts upon donuts! You can have your pick.
Noe Valley Bakery — Known for their artisan baked goods, Noe Valley Bakery is a hit, with two locations in Noe Valley and West Portal. If you’re craving something sweet, they have everything from croissants, mini cupcakes for your little one to large-sized cupcakes to eclairs. As a note, they have the best iced chai I’ve had in the city. Come on by and check it out!
Bebebar — Craving something sweet, but say a little bit healthier? Bebebar offers Brazilian acaí, juices, coffee, teas, and smoothies. Drop on by for a healthy dessert, and as a bonus, head on over to Mission Dolores Park afterwards because it’s walking distance away!
Miette –This place is seriously the cutest pastry shop in the city. I’ve been to the location in Hayes Valley on Octavia, and as a pleasant surprise, it’s decked out in all pink! Yes, there’s a pink wall for all my ladies wondering. They have a gorgeous selection of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and macarons to choose from if you’re looking for decadent desserts whether for a bridal party, birthday, or housewarming gift.
Creations Dessert House — Creations Dessert House is a low-key dessert spot based in the Inner Richmond. They have a massive menu to choose from that includes sweets like fruit bread castle, glutinous rice balls with a sweet juice, their sago series, special jelly drinks, and mochi for ridiculously cheap. If you’re in the mood for something more savory, they have options like spaghetti, udon, calamari, etc. I had one of their sagos, which was a mango dessert paired with coconut milk, which turned out to be a delicious treat. A majority of their dessert options are paired with some kind of fruit. Make sure to pay a visit to the ATM beforehand because it’s cash only!
Happy Dessert Day! What’s your go-to dessert for treating yourself? Share your favorites below in the comments!
