After almost a quarter of a century, I know of one thing to be true.
Moving is NOT fun — packing, lifting boxes, scrubbing, and cleaning to make sure that every speck is removed.
A month ago, I was cleaning out my place in San Francisco, getting ready to move out. I left cleaning to the last few days, thinking I didn’t have that much to clean.
Well, life has a funny way of playing tricks on ya.
Turns out I had boxes and boxes of stuff I had to ship off. I came to San Francisco with ONE suitcase. How on earth did that happen???
Apparently you can accumulate a lot of stuff in the timespan of one year.
Well, I cleaned, and scrubbed, and I cleaned some more. That last night, I barely slept.
I woke up feeling like a zombie. I had no time to do my hair let alone my face.
I was rocking full-on eye bags, but I did my best to pull myself together for the day ahead.
It was my last Sunday at church, and my last day in San Francisco, so my friends threw me a surprise going-away lunch! We talked, we ate, and we laughed.
Farewells also mean lots and lots of PICTURES.
To sum it up, I looked like a walking mess from my staying up late from the past few nights.
I was not having my finest moment when it came to pictures, but, thank God, I remembered a quick beauty tip I got from Ayesha Curry, years ago — and that is LIPSTICK!
If you don’t know who Ayesha Curry is, she’s a BOSS lady who wears many hats from chef, entrepreneur to mom. She’s also the wife of Stephen Curry, who plays on the Golden State Warriors team.
In one of her Youtube videos, she mentioned that as a mom, you’re always on-the-go, but that if you throw on some lipstick, you’ll instantly look put-together and refreshed!
Well, my friends — that’s exactly what I did.
I threw on a bold red lip, and the lipstick came through because I look way better in pictures than I was looking in real life.
It’s like the red lips diverted the attention away from the tiredness that was on the rest of my face LOL!
As you can see, I had no time to curl my hair, but that bright pop of color instantly brightened up my face.
Anyone else thankful to whoever invented the red lipstick?
