What are the biggest dreams in your life? What’s holding you back from accomplishing them? Fear, insecurity, judgement?
Growing up, I have always been fascinated with magazines. I subscribed to almost every woman’s magazine there was: Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, and more. Getting the monthly issue was like opening presents on Christmas day. I appreciated looking at the physical layout, colors, images, and text. How everything was formatted on a page. Around 2013, I noticed things started making a shift towards digital. People were starting blogs. I noticed that some of the publications over the years I followed were folding, and shifting to the online space.
At the time, I was writing for an online/print magazine. I would get published in all these articles, but I would never share them with friends or family because I was self-conscious about my own work. Fear. held me back. Insecurity crept in. I feared people’s judgement. I thought that people would think, oh, she’s not even that good.
I attributed my success to pure chance and luck.
This went on for a while.
Now, I’ve always had a desire to be an editor of a magazine or some kind of publication. I created this website in December 2014 because I wanted to create a space that was empowering women in every area of their lives: in faith, personal style, work life, and travel. I decided to just go for it.
Now, I ask you today — what’s holding you back from pursuing your dreams? I’ve heard it said — if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re probably too small. I’m talking God-sized dreams!
What has God put on your heart? Your desires are there for a reason.
I’ve previously written on daily journaling routine, which you can read here. It’s something I’ve been doing since high school. I would journal about heartbreak, friendships, my classes, college dreams, and more.
As I got older, I started turning to journaling as a way to connect with God in my devotional time. I’m not the most eloquent prayer. If you asked me to pray in a large group, I’d probably hesitate a bit. I connect with people through writing. Same with God. I love writing because I feel like my prayers, declarations, and affirmations are coming to life.
Seeing them written out on an actual page. I’ve journaled everything from my petitions to God for a dream job, home, relationship, and so much more. Over the years, I’ve looked back at my journal entries and have seen how God has honored and answered my requests.
This is why I’ve created a worksheet on Pursuing Your God-sized Dreams to help you to start writing and tracking your weekly prayers, declarations, and affirmations.

I’m a huge believer in writing out your prayers and declaring your victories before they come to life. I’ve divided the worksheet into three categories: prayers, declarations, and affirmations.
One section is devoted to your prayer requests. What are your petitions to God?
Another section is on declarations. This is where you declare what you’re believing for God to do in your life.
The last section is on affirmations, which is SO important. God says you are called, fearfully and wonderfully made.
In order to achieve your God-sized dreams, you need to know what you are set apart and qualified!
I’ve seen how having bold faith has played out in my own life.
I’d love to hear your own personal stories, as well. What does your devotional time look like? Share below in the comments!
